PRIVACY POLICY

 

This policy sets out how I ( Lorraine O'Mullane), use and protect the information you provide when using my services and accessing my website.

 

I intend to ensure any data, therapy notes and personal information you provide is managed respectfully and only used for the purposes which it has been provided for.

 

Information I collect about you and how I use it

When you contact me, I will collect your;

Name 

Email address

Telephone number

Any information you share relating to your enquiry and therapy sessions

 

During our therapy sessions, an assessment of your psychological health may be completed, and notes will be taken during our sessions. These notes may include personal and sensitive details that you disclose about your life.

 

The assessment and notes are used solely for the purpose of planning future bespoke therapy sessions, and to produce recordings and other follow up advice.

 

All files are held securely within a locked filing cabinet in a secure office environment.  I do not store any files online.

 

I will ask for your GP contact details and some basic health information.

There are some health conditions that are contraindicated for hypnotherapy and there may be circumstances where it is necessary to contact your GP before commencing therapy.

 

You do not have to consent to the collection of information, however I may not be able to work with you if you choose not to provide it.

 

Your email address may be used for the purpose of sending you a recording to listen to, follow up advice and to confirm /arrange appointments._

 

 

Your rights under the GDPR effective from May 2018

 

You have the right to be informed

You have the right of access. If you wish to see your file then please write to me and I will provide you with this within 30 days.

You have the right to rectification which means you can request I change any information that is factually inaccurate.

You have the right to erasure which means that after 7 years, which is the period of time I am required to retain your details, your information will be securely destroyed.

You have the right to restrict processing: I will only use your information for the purposes stated above.

 

I uphold the common law principles of confidentiality where the duty to keep confidence is measured against the concept of 'greater good'.

 

If in my opinion there was reason to believe not to disclose would cause greater danger, harm to self, me or others then your GP or appropriate agencies may be contacted.

The sharing of anonymous case histories with supervisors and peer support groups is not a breach of confidentiality.

 

You have the right to object: I will not contact you for marketing purposes unless you give me consent to do so.

You have the right not to be subject to automated decision making including profiling: I will not use your information for profiling purposes.

 

 

Cookies and links to other websites

Cookies are small files which ask your permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive so that it can analyse traffic to my website.

You can modify your setting to decline these if you prefer but may find you cannot make full use of my website.

My website may contain links to other websites of interest.

Once you have left my website I cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide elsewhere.

Lawful basis for processing your information

The lawful basis for my holding and using your information to deliver therapy to you is consent. By consenting you agree to my processing of your information for the purposes detailed in this agreement.
